Summer Camps

2020 Summer Camps

We're excited to offer both online and on-campus summer camps this year. The on-campus camps will follow all provincially-recommended health and safety protocols. On-campus camps have limited registration, but online camps have unlimited registration, and both are open to the public. For all camps, please email ​Moira McDonald​ for details and to register.

Coding and Strategy - August 10-14

Grades P-4, $400 per week
In this Camp, we will play all kinds of games including classics like chess and checkers, spend time learning to code and exploring digital games, and get outside to enjoy the weather and the great outdoors.

Visual Arts - August 17-21

Grades P-4, $400 per week
Sacred Heart Art teacher extraordinaire, Ms. Jollymore, will lead a week of visual arts where campers will get to draw, paint, craft, explore digital art, and be part of a large collaborative project. T​his camp, dedicated to creativity and artistic expression, will use both our indoor and outdoor spaces.

Bringing Stories to Life - August 24-28

Grades P-4, $400 per week
Actor Briony Merritt will lead this unique and creative camp for aspiring authors and storytellers. They’ll learn how to build a character, write a script, and how to bring stories to life! Of course there will be lots of reading, and even some acting, throughout the week.

Virtual Guitar Camp - August 17-21

Grades 7+, $195 per week
In this virtual Guitar Camp, participants will spend time developing a basic knowledge and understanding of various guitar styles including acoustic, rock, classical, blues, and country. Campers will also explore basic concepts and techniques involved in the particular styles, and will also spend time listening to and discussing significant musicians and moments in the history of guitar music.

Virtual Ukulele Camp - August 10-14

Grades 5-6, $195 per week
Spend a week developing your playing skills and learning some popular ukulele tunes that will make you a hit at your next (socially distanced) family get-together! The Camp will include setting and tuning the instrument, developing right and left hand technique, strumming and picking tunes, learning about famous and not so famous musicians, and even writing our own songs.

Virtual Debate Camp - August 17-21

Grades 7-12, $425 per week
Our 16th Annual Sacred Heart Debate Camp will be held virtually this year and is open to experienced and novice debaters from across Canada. Led by well-known debate coach Brian Casey, the Camp will offer lectures, instruction, practice, and mentoring from experienced coaches. Details and registration information

Sophie Connect - July and August

Grades 9-12, starting at $500 per course
These virtual, asynchronous classes offered by the Sacred Heart Network are designed as high-level instruction for students who are ready and willing to learn. Thirteen AP and other senior courses are available over two or four week periods in July and August, and are a great opportunity for students preparing for post-secondary education.
