If I have come to depend on my phone for one thing more than any other, it would be the calendar app. The days when the phone gets forgotten on the kitchen counter are frustrating because I never quite feel on top of my day, or the least bit confident that I haven’t missed some commitment or other.

In team sports, success can be equated with good strategy. As the World Cup got underway rest assured that Team Canada spent hours on the practice pitch running through a full playbook of specific techniques and tactics — their strategy. Each player strives to improve their individual skills but more importantly, it’s how those individuals come together as a team using their strategy that will have the most impact.

Outdoors, the sky is blue, the air is clear, and the trees are on fire with red, orange, and yellow leaves. Fall is in full swing, and that means a season of abundance. If you head out of the city there are fields full of pumpkins and trees full of apples, ripe and ready for picking. All over the province, our farmers’ markets are bursting with all kinds of fresh produce, the result of long hours of sunlight and even longer hours of hard work by farmers and farm workers.
