We just celebrated 20 years of Spanish fun at our 20th annual Fiesta! Students and staff enjoyed a fun day together en español.
The grade 12 students kicked-off the festivities by creating Guatemalan Worry Dolls. After everyone had created their own doll, teachers Sra. Cubillos, Sra. Cuadra-Dumke, and Sra. Riley's joined students for skits, dances, and songs and then together they watched “Coco”, a beautiful film celebrating Mexican heritage. To work up their appetite for lunch, Danny Godfrey from Halifax Salseros lead the group in a salsa dancing lesson. After some piñata fun, the group finished their day with a 20-year tradition of cutting a Fiesta cake. Thank you to our parent volunteers for their kind help with lunch, andmuchas gracias also to Pat Nichols and Glen Oxner for their technical support. La fiesta estuvobuenísima!
