On Thursday, our Gr 9 GH French classes enjoyed a great outing to Dartmouth Crossing for the FIN Kids Film Festival.
This festival began in 2002 as ViewFinders, a week-long film festival for Atlantic Canadian youth. Since then, it has grown into an entire initiative that brings the film festival experience to school groups and communities throughout the Maritimes.
The girls were inspired and entertained by some excellent French language shorts that had strong themes tying to our region. After lunch, they participated in an eye-opening workshop in French led by Industry professionals. They learned all about French filmmaking, and learned some great techniques for their upcoming Grade 9 French film program, as well as the Tapis Rouge Film Festival in April. Merci Fin Kids! C'était fantastique!
