Fine Arts

learning to see

The Visual Arts are integrated into so much of our school life and our academic program that it’s difficult to say where one ends and the other begins.  From our  creative and engaging Elementary School art programs to our senior high Fine Arts classes, students at every level are given an opportunity to create and to collaborate.

Students are encouraged to critically evaluate their own artwork while viewing it in relation to art history and contemporary practice. Through a wide range of media, teachers inspire the creativity, capabilities, and curiosity of our students.  Students are introduced to basic drawing techniques and engage with a host of media, exploring both the aesthetic and the cultural along the way.

There is a host of opportunities for students to showcase their talents including both Elementary and Senior art shows and through engaging with our community on murals like the one we recently completed on the corner of Spring Garden Road and Dresden Row.
