Our Future

Our Sacred Heart community dares to be true to our students! We dare to have the courage to live up to the support and challenges they deserve. We don’t push our students to be the best in the world; we inspire them to be the best for the world.
Being true to our roots and traditions, we embrace the future. We are proud of the unique and effective education we provide at Sacred Heart—and are daring enough to examine how we can be even better!

Building community and social action are key components of a Sacred Heart education.
To allow our school to become a place of diverse ideas, experiences, and people, we will invest in:
•   Enhancing our bursary program to accommodate students and families who wouldn’t otherwise be able to join our community
•   Providing greater financial security for the school by increasing the bursary endowment and investment income.
Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, Founder of the Society of the Sacred Heart, believed in the power of education to transform individuals—and the power of individuals to transform society. It is with pride that our Sacred Heart students have been doing this since 1849.

Our programs need to reflect the changing global context, the dynamic needs of today’s students, and emerging trends in learning.  We will invest in a Center of Excellence to provide:
•   Increased support for students with differentiated learning needs
•   Purposeful and thoughtful integration of technology into the classroom through hardware and software investments, and enhancements to the curriculum
•   Greater intercultural learning and the sharing of ideas and skills through our Sacred Heart Network and expanded ESL program
•      A deeper understanding of our unique single-sex program for Grade 7-12 students.
•      Appropriate spiritual support for our community.

Academic, physical and social learning are integral to a Sacred Heart education and it is important that our facilities enrich our students’ learning experience. We will invest in:
•   Safe, age-appropriate spaces for play, physical activity, and co-ed social interactions for our growing student population
•   Revise the traffic flow and a new main entry to the school
•   An outdoor gathering space
•   Maintenance and preservation of our historic buildings
