This morning our students received an early Christmas gift during a special Zoom call - Congé!
This beloved tradition, which takes place at Sacred Heart schools around the world, is a surprise day of fun - a day when everyone gets to put down the pencils, stop working, and just be a kid! This year’s celebration was very meaningful; sure we had lots of fun, but we also brought our Goal 3 - Social Awareness That Impels to Action - into the day. We made gifts for others - blankets for sick patients in Intensive Care Units, sandwiches for 450 vulnerable people in our community, and cards for those serving in the military overseas and the many residents of Northwood here at home. Throughout the day, our students enjoyed all kinds of fun activities in their classroom (respecting all the safety guidelines of course) - gingerbread house and rice krispie snowmen making, door decorating, bingo, movies, and dancing. We also had a very special visitor: Santa! He made sure to share some of his Christmas magic with our Elementary School students.
Huge thanks to the incredible Congé Planning Committee who made this day possible and so special.
