This week’s weather was perfect for an outing to the Public Gardens where the natural world was both a backdrop and a project.
Ms. Mosher’s and Mrs. Carter’s Grade 2 classes recently learned all about the life cycle of butterflies and how they contribute to our ecosystem. In the classroom, students had the opportunity to care for their own caterpillars until they formed chrysalides, then anxiously awaited for them to grow. When the time came for the Painted Lady butterflies to emerge it was over to the Gardens where each student got the chance to hold their butterfly before releasing it. It’s a special tradition and wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about and better appreciate our natural world. Big thanks to Ms. Mosher and Mrs. Carter enough for putting this awesome project together.
