Our Elementary School is buzzing with excitement over their latest project!
Students in Grades 1-6 have made their own beeswax food wrap in the final art class of the year. This special project empowers our community to reduce the amount of plastic we use, while recycling clean cotton materials. Each wrap was handmade melting food grade beeswax on recycled cotton cloth. The wraps are washable in lukewarm soapy water, anti fungal, and will last up to a year! When the wrap has reached the end of its usefulness, it can be cut into strips and composted in the green bin or used as a fire starter during camping trips. What a fun and easy way to help our planet!
