Voyage au Montréal & Québec City

This past week, 20 of our Grade 9 girls travelled to Québec on the 15th annual Voyage au Montréal & Québec City Classique.
This immersive adventure took our girls on a journey through history and culture, as they learned all about Québec City’s and Montreal’s heritage through first-hand experiences. Our girls visited the Martello Tower on the Plains of Abraham, toured the Québec Parliament Building at Le Parlementair, explored Place Royale, Quartier Petit-Champlain, and other points of cultural and historical significance. The group also enjoyed a sightseeing cruise along the magnificent St. Lawrence River and the Beaupre Coast. While touring the Coast, the girls learned about the original inhabitants of the region, and discovered the history, culture, and lifestyle of Huron’s past and present. The girls also got the chance to see the Ste Anne de Beaupré Cathedral, St. Joseph Oratory - Canada’s largest cathedral, old Montréal’s Notre Dame Cathedral, Montmorency Falls, and Montréal’s Biodome. They also had a charming Québécois sugar shack experience at L’En-Tailleur Sugar Shack. As they prepared to leave Québec, the group visited Canada’s only other Sacred Heart Network school, Sacred Heart School of Montréal, and received a blessing for their journey home. It was an amazing experience full of memories and life lessons that are sure to last. Special thanks to our staff chaperones and guides: Kathleen Bekkers, Megan Beaubien, and Charlotte Riley for making this adventure possible. Quelle aventure amusante!
