A year’s worth of creativity was on display at the 7th Annual Elementary School Art Show. The halls, classrooms, and Atrium were filled with beautiful and uplifting examples of students’ art that featured all kinds of genres, and included every possible material such as string, paint, crayon, tinfoil, and egg cartons.
The Art Show demonstrates the focus on and pride we take in our Arts program, and showcases not just the finished product, but the art-making process and the creative problem-solving that goes into its making. This year, work from homeroom and art classes was on display, as were special pieces in the Independent Projects category that featured Ocean-themed art done on students’ own time. Proud students were on hand to share their imaginations and talents with their families and many others in our community who took time to stop by. All were regaled with music thanks to a rotating slate of students and faculty who played in the Mezzanine. Some our Elementary students also provided art interpretation and assistance serving refreshments.
The Show itself was “artfully” displayed and presented thanks to a phenomenal Committee including Chair Barbara-Ann McGarry, and members Nicole Ferguson, Therese Francis, Nancy Jakeman, Sherry Jollymore, Susan Mosher, Kathy Naulls, and Barb Wade. Thanks also to PG volunteers Lee Gifford-Simms and Jennifer Chiesa.
It was an outstanding evening of art, talent, creativity, and fun and one we look forward to every year. Thanks to all who supported our Elementary artists!
