Senior Students Experience History

Our Grade 10 History students had an incredibly immersive educational experience during their recent trip to the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.
They started their visit with an interesting lecture about Canadian immigration policies in the 19th and early 20th century Canada by Historian Steven Schwinghamer, then examined some archival primary source documents. Afterward, the students received a guided tour of the museum while experiencing what it was like to immigrate to Canada in the early 20th century. Special thanks to teachers Jill Blain and Christina McKay, and chaperones Gordie McKinnon and Linda Davis for making this trip possible. The students had fun while learning about the importance of this national treasure.
